Expert: Russian online game market to expand to $2 bln by 2016
MOSCOW, Jul 27 (PRIME) -- Russia’s online games annual turnover will rise 16% in 2015 to U.S. $1.89 billion despite currency fluctuations, consulting company J’son & Partners Consulting said Monday in a statement.
“The game market is now the world’s largest segment of digital content, which generates multibillion incomes and attracts a large audience each year. The same thing in Russia, the game market is the most significant and promising direction of the Russian content market in 2014–2015,” the statement read.
In 2014, multiplayer online products were the most popular segment with the market share of 40% in monetary terms. Among the main trends in 2015–2016 is a growth of the game market audience.
